Francés is a key of 6.42 km2 belonging to the municipality of Caibarién. Its territory, of high ecological sensitivity and high biodiversity, is part, along with the keys Santa María, Ensenachos, Las Brujas, Cobos and many others (more than 500), of the insular subgroup "Cayos de la Herradura" of the Sabana-Camagüey archipelago. A concrete ship called San Pascual, which is a tourist attraction for visitors, is stranded in the area.
